Tunage:metric- fantasies, camera obscura - my maudlin career, LSTN#4
Discovery: Any one of the facts from Isabella Rosaline's Green Prono series on Sundance - for example, did you know that Spiders have poor eyesight? very humorous (albeit sometimes awkward) and yet oh so educational!
Stand-out fashion ed: The Great PretenderUS Vogue may 09
For my viewing pleasure: Grey Gardens (HBO)/ It (starring Clara Bow) /artist docs on Ovation TV & Yesterdays episode of the Hills (one of the boy's songs was included on the soundtrack - otherwise that show is rubbish)
Eat, drink & be broke*: goat cheese pizzas from trader joe's, barefoot cabernet sauvignon & chocolate mochi (*but thanks to trader joe's, not as broke as usual)
Readage: mercy among children by David Adams (still, ugh...I know), french language book, old music articles (circa 1990s)
Outfits: more dresses, sandals & straw hats!
Favorite Post this Month: spring brought to life...Sakura !
Highlight(s) of the month: my mom coming to visit & the start of sun dress weather!
Aspirations: a) to FINALLY get my camera up and running again, it has been out of commission for about 3+ weeks (hence the iphone photo at the top of this post!) and this is causing serious distress! Oh and b) to potentially start job hunting...because, as Iggy Pop said, "I'm bored".

girl anachronism
I think I was born in the wrong era...
I have just realized how much amazing footage from the 1920s there is to be watched on YouTube. I highly recommend wasting an hour or so on this lovely Saturday.

100 abandoned houses
When I came across this 100 Abandoned Houses Project I thought it was quite cool but after looking at all the shots, it became more depressing than anything else. Still and interesting concept. It makes me wonder, who was the last person to call this home?more here.
now...a song to lift our spirits...our house - madness

Eerie Indiana by Maise
Not only does Australian based line, Maise have lovely threads but just take a gander at their Hitchcock-inspired lookbook for AW 2009 fittingly titled Eerie, Indiana:
It is definitely worth making a visit to their site which can be found here.
now, one of only a few shins songs I actually buy into, never mind that it's a cover!

I'm not the post you thought I was...
I actually had a fashion related post in mind for today, however, something is running amok in my photoshop AND after several failed attempts I have decided that it can wait until tomorrow.
For now, I give you...Degas
I am 99.9% convinced that to really, truly appreciate these one must do what one can to get to the musee d'Orsay in Paris. In fact, let's all go right now! BLOGGER ROAD TRIP! (oh, if only)
To be honest, I didn't get what the fuss was about until I was face to er... canvas with these lovely ladies.
back tomorrow and with fashion!

i'm a robot.
I am always surprised with random acts of kindness between strangers. In a sea of negativity thrust upon us by the powers that be these acts give me faith in humanity. In the case of the "tweenbots" - even though, to be fair, they are not living things - there is proof that these type of good-deed-doers can be found in even the toughest of places... the streets of New York City.Tweenbots are human-dependent robots that navigate the city with the help of pedestrians they encounter. Rolling at a constant speed, in a straight line, Tweenbots have a destination displayed on a flag, and rely on people they meet to read this flag and to aim them in the right direction to reach their goal.

money, money, money
I have a love/hate relationship with the stuff. For this reason, while I sat there sorting out my taxes (weeks later than I had intended) I needed some serious distraction from les finances...
Jenny Lewis & Rodarte...does it get any better? Well, I suppose a $1000 tax refund would be nice too...if only!
