resort report

I've been putting together this resort collection post for a while now and probably should have posted it last week. Alas, life keeps it's pace whether or not you can keep up (as you all undoubtedly know). So...here we are.

I find Resort collections very intriguing because they can really go one of two ways; much like a short story, either the designer is able to say what they intended to say in a succinct manner that makes sense visually - OR - it so obviously lacks congruity and/or a plot of any sort that it seems like the whole thing was thrown together in a mad frenzy, like a science project you remembered was due the night before the science fair. these are a few of my favorites.

I finally took sometime to explore the work of fashion photog, Miles Aldridge. I knew I'd seen his work many times before but I was blown away while looking through his incredibly colorful and eclectic portfolio. I had a pretty hard time narrowing down which photos to post but these are some of my favorites...Definitely worth a few minutes of your time! As I'm sure I have mentioned before, I am a fan of street art & public art installations. Australia's Miso is no exception. I love the feminine juxtaposition of many of her pieces set against the gritty urban backdrop. And I love the pictures she has on her site of her pieces being put up. Seems like a very guerrilla-style affair...

unexcused absence and other ramblings

hello lovelies. I have to apologize for quite possibly the longest period of time I've been away from this blog. Not only was my birthday last week, but I also had to fly out of state suddenly for some family related reasons. But fret not, I am back in action as of this morning and hoping to play catch up on my comments on your lovely blogs as well as my own posts.

For now, Luella has relaunched her website and e-shop. So, does any one have a few thousand pounds I can borrow?
