From the snow to the rain. Back in LA now enjoying my days off and gearing up for the new year. I'm trying to catch up with all of your lovely blogs and working on proper posts now that I have working internet (and power!).

this post was clearly meant for a few days ago but, as luck would have it, the power in the small mountian town I was visiting went out for two days! Thus no Internet, but more importantly no heat! Just lots of fires and cuddling up under down comfoters. Hope you all had a great week. I'll be back very soon!

It's pretty clear from this blog that I love cool photos of cute girls; they inspire me fashion-wise, and also creatively, so I'm constantly on the lookout.  I came across (Norwegian?) photographer, Ponygraph on Flikr recently and was most definitely inspired by her work.

ready for the weekend

Boy, oh, boy am I glad it's Friday...well, sort of... but I have a lot to get done before I head to the snow next week! Not to mention, figuring out what to pack (yikes!!)  but I'm getting ahead of myself... here's a little something I wore at the start of the week.

Somehow or another my hair got progressively messy throughout this mini-shoot and by the time I got to this photo it looks like Russel Brand styled it...

Incidentally, that little black blur is "Mowgli" the (often naughty) cat who's shenanigans should warrant him his own post one day.

A couple of you asked me to post photos of my sonia rykiel for h&m purchases earlier in the week so I thought I'd do a really quick post.  disclaimer::I'm by no means a label-maniac (despite my outfit post earlier this week and this one) so please don't get the wrong idea. I do, however, LOVE lingerie of any kind so I wasn't about to let cheap(ish) cute underwear pass me by!

reckless daughter's wardrobe: heart dress

I found this red Marc by Marc Jacobs heart print dress with the original tags still on it at a consignment store here in LA for basically next to nothing and it has quickly become my favorite.

I originally had another layer or two on top of this but once I got inside it was time to let the dress be the focal point :)  The photos were taken a few days ago - happily, I finally found a moment to post them. Oh and I had to take them inside, unfortunately, so the lighting isn't perfect but I think you get the idea!

a little winter pick-me-up

I was absolutely freezing this morning and was sad to have to leave my warm & cozy bed not to mention the little pups and the English boy who were sound asleep in it.  It's supremely wet and chilly in LA (for once) and I now realize I've become a total baby about the cold since I moved to Southern California...shame on me. Everything is relative, right?

Anyway, I figure we could all use a little something to warm up our Monday so I dug up this cozy "Prints" ED from Italian Vogue which I've always enjoyed...

How incredibly over-the-top does this show look? I would have loved to have been there but I guess I'll just have to settle for this video, that and checking out the collection in person...

I really like some of the vintage-inspired sets - like the one Lily Cole has on (she's the model holding the horse reins).
