with les fashion week(s) starting oh-so-very-soon I've been making my usual mental list of shows and models I'm excited to see (no small task). Whilst gathering information this time it dawned on me... "whatever happend to Gemma Ward?"
We really haven't seen nor heard much from miss Ward since April's UK Vogue. Should we be worried?Well - fret not - I managed to dig up a little info however nothing too specific. Both gemma & IMG(who rep her) made statements late last month addressing her non-retirement.
Ok... so, non-retirement, that's a good start...
“I was surprised to wake up this morning and read news of my own retirement" Ward said in an August press release "While I am taking some time off currently to rest and enjoy the company of friends and family, I am still very much an excited and enthusiastic working model and actress. I’m only 20, for God’s sakes.”
Representatives at IMG also say that she will be taking further time off in September. Ah-ha...and there it is. I'm assuming "further time off in September" means we can forget about an appearance on the runways this month. sigh... good to know she is still alive though - and apparently, most recently spotted in Nepal. she could have sent a postcard or something!Anyhow - to cheer us up from the sad reality that is a "Ward-less September" here's something I found mildly entertaining - the Kooks covering MGMT's song kids

I miss Gemma. I know she has been filming "Black Balloon." Perhaps soon they will start promoting the film, or she is making another...
