When I was invited to attend the BritWeek 2010 Designer of the Year Award/Fashion Show at Smashbox Studios I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to start covering more LA fashion events. This event had the added bonus of being centered on British Designers (which I have a little bit of a thing for). The event honored Designer Matthew Williamson and included a runway show of his spring 2010 collection (which I loved the first time around and love even more now). The event also included a special tribute fashion show to Alexander McQueen.
Before the show (after I mustered up the courage to ask) I snapped a few of the stylish folks in attendance...
This lovely lady's dress is such a great print - it really stood out
and I loved the little marc jacobs bag.
Nothing like a well-dressed guy in a bow-tie.
(he wasn't thrilled about being featured on a "blog" but he humored me! thanks!)
So well accessorized and a lovely color scheme.
two stylish friends, two amazing frocks!
I surprised her by asking to snap a pic but I just loved
the pops of color she added to this black ensemble.
these statement pants are incredible -
something I wish I could pull off, alas...
I'd forgotten about this marc by marc jacobs heart dress
until I saw this adorable girl sporting it with some fishnets and a cute clutch. love!
thanks to everyone who let me take their photo!
part 2 of Britweek 2010 Fashion Event "the runway" coming soon.
