stillness is a lie, my dear

My life is about to get a whole lot busier in the coming weeks... which is why, the fact that I am struggling to keep up as it is scares me a little. Some of it involves travel (which hopefully will be well documented here), some of it involves work, and some of it involves fun things I've been meaning to do for a long time. In the meantime, lets pretend the only thing I have to do is hang around in our garden and take photos. Pretend that a busy schedule isn't looming just outside of the gate!
This 1950s vintage wool jacket is actually part of a two piece set - it has a matching sleeveless dress. Wearing the whole thing together is really fun but it can border on Madmen/costume-y so I tend to separate them.  I bought this set way back when I lived in Seattle (5 years ago or more!) and I've been quite careful not to be too hard on it because I like it so much and it is in really amazing condition. Also, in all honesty, it is wool and I live in Southern California so there is basically a small two month window during which I can wear it without passing out from heat exhaustion!
(above is the most true to color photo - fyi)
Lastly, a Christmas present from my dear friend "Bean"...a little medallion with my blog's initials (DJRD) on one side and the date I started it on the other.  Isn't that so incredibly thoughtful!?  She's been ultra-supportive of my blog since day one. (thanks, bean!)
