FW inspiration and other things

Ok, as promised, I am posting a few of my FW2013 favorites today. Starting with one of my favorite labels of late, Red Valentino. I love everything about this collection probably as much as I liked the last one. Just pure perfection...

for the full collection visit style.com

I also really loved the 60s twiggy vibe of the Anna Sui show this time around. She is so constant in her color scheme but without being totally boring and that is no easy task. those greens and blues really caught my eyeballs!

On to another 1960s inspired collection...ahhh, ChloĆ« for OC... there are always at least 5 items I want from each of
her collections and this was particularly true for Fall 13. Very 60s Youthquake mixed with definite hints of 90s and some questionable track suits but we should expect no less, as miss Sevigny is a 90s poster child.  I want all of the coats and the white dress for a start!

Lastly, I was going to post Marc Jacobs' FW13 collection because I am a magpie and it was sparkle-tastic but... upon second glance I realized there was a whole lot of fur in it...like A LOT...and, honestly, I felt funny posting it here because it's not exactly "in tune" with my code of ethics. Anyway, so look it up if you are interested.  I have to say I loved the crazy huge and messy hair at Marc by MJ (probably because mine looks like that most days) so I'm posting that instead!

Now, perhaps I am out of sorts but I was mildly disappointed at some of my usual NYFW favorites this season.  London, however, is proving slightly more inspiring

In other news - I am playing in LA tonight!  It is my EP release party so please come on down if you are in town and say hello! xo

welcome to fall

And so we meet again.  I'm slowly but surely giving the old blog a bit of a facelift (just a few little tweaks) so please bear with me if things look a little upside down over the next week or so.  But enough about that...I hope you all had a lovely weekend?  "The Brit" and I spent most of ours doing some decorating and organizing of our little bungalow in the hills.  His parents are coming to the States to spend Christmas with us and that includes coming to our place for a couple of days.  Seeing as though that is about a month away we thought we had better get on top of those projects we'd been putting off. Hang a few pieces of art, buy a rug, and do some painting. Not in this outfit though, I wore this to work on Friday, pre-home improvements...

May I express briefly how ridiculously thrilled I was to finally be able to pull out the knitwear and my over the knee socks, you guys? I almost shed a tear!

Still working my way toward finishing my forthcoming EP in time for January which is when I think it will be ready to share with the world. The songs are basically finished - just some photos, artwork and mastering left to do. I am exceptionally excited to share it with you.

october already?

It's been a busy few days. Apologies for the lack of posts but I've been running around like a mad woman preparing for fall - refusing to allow this global-warming-fueled never ending summer in which we on the west coast seem to be stuck to dictate my wardrobe.

In pursuit of the perfect Fall/Winter closet I have been scouring shops and e-shops for cool finds and that's when I stumbled on H&M (USA)'s cool layout for Autumn 2008. The whole back drop is a virtual fashion show, and while this may or may not be an original layout idea, it's pretty cool for H&M. have a look for your self...

Of course I couldn't find anything of interest in the actual store but after seeing this site I'm thinking I should give it a second chance?

In other news, I finally found a way to work in some
lace a la Prada... tights!

you can find them at Express and forever21
