Lately, a few of my favorite bloggers have posted (and challenged others to post) photos of themselves in casual clothing, the kind that one wouldn't normally post on one's blogs; Something you'd wear at home on a lazy Sunday, for example. I thought this was an interesting idea but then I realized that I tend to look "overdressed" even when I dress down and some people might get the impression that alot of time goes into that look. But here's a little secret... it doesn't. I generally throw on things that are comfortable without being sloppy AND since I'm perpetually running five minutes late, I do want to emphasize these outfits are seriously
thrown on. Anyhow, I thought I'd change it up a little and add another dimension to the post by including a second set of photos of me dressed up. This is mainly because I've had several requests to post more photos of my
New Years Eve dress (AKA the Mummy) and have let a month go by without making good on my promise! so sorry.
This is what I wore when I ran out this morning to grab a coffee at the laurel canyon store. *prep-time: 2 minutes:
jeans: siwy (gilt), sweater: UO (mens xs - yay!), duckboots: vintage llbean
quick change...
(sidenote: I really need to repaint my toes! :) )
And for a dressy night out...

Not to give excuses, but I am a bit under the weather (cough, cough) so I, honestly, might have styled the second outfit a bit more if I were actually going out and not just playing dress up for you wonderful people! :) xx

I really like this post. I find that effortless dressing should be spontaneous and literally thrown on. I don't plan my daily oufits for school, or even for going out. It all depends on my mood of that day... which can change very quickly. I like both of these outfits! xx
I love both outfits. In the 1st you look somewhat romantic with that lovely straw hat, in the 2nd, you just look like you're gonna kick someone's ass! hehe I can see some 1960s elements in it, not sure if it was your inspiration:)
omg! amazing looks.
i love your hat, boots and dress.
xx
The dress is gorgeous!!
crazy adorable. The boots are a really great unexpected touch. And in that dress, you seem very audrey hepburn esque. Gorgeous!
