doll parts

I bought this petticoat skirt a while back because I loved the color and the softness of it but I haven't been able to figure out how to wear it (aside from under other skirts and dresses).  I'm working on it, though. The best thing about the skirt is that it reminds me of a Degas painting and that just can't be viewed as a negative in my world.  However, I have come to the conclusion that it should probably be reserved for special occasions (or for twirling around the house! haha) and perhaps not for running errands which, incidentally, is what I did while wearing it over the weekend. But, hey, I only got a couple of strange looks so whatever. I think coupling it with a denim shirt helped to tone down the prima ballerina aspect a tiny bit...
I also think that watching Courtney Love, Behind the Music right before I left the house helped fuel my "I don't care what other people think - I'm wearing this to Trader Joe's and wherever else I fancy! so there" mentality.  Interesting BTM by the way - I think I like her more now. funny how that happens when I watch those.

On a sidenote, "the Brit" isn't so sure about my tutu either but he has learned to deal with me and my quirks!

I totally approve of the skirt/tutu! I really like how you paired it with denim - it definitely tones down the whole "I just came from ballet practice" vibe, like you said.

I dig the tutu and with flats it seems totally day wear appropriate to me. :)

That skirt is 100% awesome. I'd wear it to the grocery store. And, you can really never have enough Courtney Love...
