The ribbon tied at the waist did not actually come with the dress - I added it after the fact to spice it up a bit.
I also would have worn more exciting footwear for you guys but I went to the Rosebowl Flea Market on this particular day which loosely translates to "you'd be mad to wear any sort of heel and this I've learned this the hard way"
like I said, no birthday-buyer's remorse here!

Gorgeous dress!! You definitley shouldn't feel guilty about buying yourself this pretty number:) And I like the flats with the dress. I'm sure it made for a fun look to wear to the Rose Flea.
Definitely no remorse! I've been buying myself things and it's not even any time near my birthday. This dress is lovely; I really like the addition of the bow, and the general child in a candy store look! I'm off to have a rummage around Asos now...
Great idea to add the ribbon, it makes the dress even cuter! :)
Oh what a cute dress! Love love love it!!

That dress is great! My birthday is always an excuse to spoil myself rotten by... myself! ;)

This dress is amazing and the colors are perfect. Love the mix of horizontal and vertical stripes. LOVE!
That dress does remind me of candy. :) It's super cute and I think it's totally okay to buy something for yourself for your birthday. :) Yeah, I know what you mean about not wearing heels when walking for a long time. I learned that lesson the really hard way: walking around in Mall of America in three and a half inch heels for four hours. There are literally scars on my feet from that, haha.

Oh! You're right that dress does look like candy - and I love the added ribbon. And I buy myself a birthday present every year haha. I think that's perfectly fine - especially if its a dress like that!
Jessturn that frown upside down
This dress does look like candy and you look so sweet in it! I highly believe in self bday gifts (and self "it's summer now" gifts and self "promotion" gifts and self "it's been one of those weeks" gifts . . . .)
hmm...I may have to review this whole "it's summer now" self-gifting idea. very interesting! ;)
good to know I am not alone :)
Wow, that is SUCH an adorable dress, you look lovely! :)

I buy myself at least 1 birthday gift every year. In fact, I actually ordered a bunch of stuff and even paid for 2 day shipping so I would be sure to have lots of packages showing up at my doorstep on my actual birthday.
I stumbled across this dress recently on asos as well; it looks great on you. What a perfectly chosen self-birthday gift.
P.S.-- I find myself wanting to using the adjective adorable way too many times when I visit your site. Note to self: use a thesaurus.
Great dress! Love it!
