tour diary: Londontown

It's the final installment of the Lucette UK tour diary! We ended the tour off with a bang in my dearest, London.  I've posted about London a lot in the past so I figured I would simply share some photos from our stay rather then do a full-on guide this post. We definitely packed a lot of the city in to a few days...

 We stopped by the British Museum where "the Brit" had a staring contest with a lion...

 and I took photos of pretty girly-er things...

Lucette and her dad had never been to London before so I felt the strong urge to drag them on a little trip up the Jubilee Line to see Abbey Road Studios (very near where I lived many moons ago).

e We signed the wall outside the studio, of course. We also called my dad and I asked him to go to this website so he could see us live in front of Abbey Road! and he could see us, which was pretty entertaining :D

on to the last show of the tour...

We played our final show at the breathtaking and magical Union Chapel.  I have dreamed about going to watch show there for ages but actually playing there!?! I needed someone to pinch me for fear I was just having a really vivid dream!

"The Brit's" parents came to the show all the way from Cornwall since we didn't have time to come to them this trip!(As did a few close London buddies)...

Still waiting on the photos of us performing (because, obviously, someone else had to take those ;) but I will post them once they emerge! Then the Secret Sisters took the stage and did an incredible job. It was bittersweet though since it was the last show.

 

During the last song the girls brought a surprise guest to the stage, the fabulous Brandi Carlie. It was a gorgeous end to an amazing show.

and, just like that, it was over and we were plopped back in LA. back to reality. But we had such an unbelievably wonderful time!

Revenge of the formerly deleted post! Let's try this once more since the last time Blogger was pitted against us!

As I mentioned in my last post, I have been in England for a wedding and to muck about in the counrtyside (& the city) for a spell.  I spent most of my nights in a small village where "the Brit's" parents live near Par in Cornwall.  I've been there many times but we are always so busy with day trips and other happenings that there are still a few unexplored areas in their village I have wanted to investigate. One of the being...the graveyard...

They technically call it a "church yard", as I understand, referring to particular the type of grave yard/church combination.

Sadly, I don't know much about the history of this place, other than it being the site a priory which dated as far back as the 1500s - the church was erected in the 1800s, I believe.

It was spooky being there as the sun went down.  As we left the bells started chiming. very eerie timing.

I'm still here! though apparently Blogger was not yesterday and it subsequently decided to eat a lovely post I had ready for you.  I hope to reconstruct it soon but it will take a bit longer as I am still traveling. I do hope you will bear with me!

 For now, I figured I would share a few images from my trip - specifically, photos of the wedding I am in England for the very purpose of attending (that of "the Brit's" brother).  "The Brit's" family all live in Cornwall which is in the most southwesterly region of England.  His brother's wedding was held at an incredible old estate called Pencarrow House and I only wish I had more time to take photos because it was just a beautiful place...

Alas, "the Brit" did not get my shoes in this shot but I forgive him ;)

Did you know England has beaches? well it does. Here is me prancing around one of them earlier this week (in Cornwall to be exact), connecting with my inner sailor...

In retrospect tights and sand aren't a particularly winning combination but it wasn't as bad as it sounds. just had to shake everything out a bit...
