The weekend is over and I am sad because it was such a fun one. Luckily, I should be having a fun filled week a head of me with my impending trip to New York -- but more on that later...
I kicked off the weekend by heading to the opening reception for The Loved One's Pop-Up Shop
We almost immediately ran into Hannah & Elvia (masterminds behind The Loved One) - we brought a few balloons for them in celebration *unfortunately, I deleted the non-blurry version of this picture because sometimes I do silly things... oops.
The shop looked amazing
oh, and I should mention, I wore one of my favorite pairs of shoes (this will factor in later)
"The Brit" was in the studio (yet again) and couldn't make it but, luckily, my date for the night was the fabulous Beth Jean...
In the middle of the shop was an adorable model perched on a swing wearing pieces from the Loved One's vintage inspired lingerie line
The space is so lovely and there were so many dresses to try on that we hung around for quite a while...literally...
Meanwhile, about 6 different people had asked me where my "fabulous shoes" came from. As I was answering the last of them, I glanced up and who should I see? None other than Nicole of Fashion Forestry who designed the fabulous shoes! Nicole lives in San Francisco and I had no idea she would be there. It was a such great surprise to meet her and strange that I was wearing those particular shoes. I have to say, she is even more enchanting in person.
Then we made some purchases and went on the hunt for food, which I was in desperate need of. Later we met up with Nicole, Hannah, Elvia & company at a underground 1960s night and danced the rest of the night away to amazing music. By then my camera battery had died but, take it from me, we had a blast.
If you are in the Los Angeles area definitely stop by the Loved One pop-up shop - it will be at Space 15 Twenty all month long. see you soon!

caution: girl at play
I've mentioned this before but sometimes feel my closet is starting to resemble that of a little girl's - albeit, a stylish little girl - but there is definitely an under tone of Lolita hiding out in my style, mixing with my other style quirks. Baby doll dresses, florals, bright prints, bows, tights, mary janes and now...now I can add dog-print to the list! Ha. But really, how did I manage to resist that temptation until now? I first saw the dress in question on online and when I saw it in person I had to try it on because I really liked the neck line. It runs a little big in my opinion and it also wrinkles pretty easily but I’m not too bothered about that because the cuteness factor outweighs those cons. Plus that probably adds to my disheveled mystique, right? Truthfully, by the end of most of my days I look like a kid who stayed out in the playground an hour too long! Luckily, I took these before that end of day look had set in completely...
And, I've finally gotten around to posting photos of my beloved glass slippers from Fashion Forestry! I have been wearing them to death for a few weeks now but never managed to snap a photo!
outfit details:
velvet blazer - vintage
dress - h&m
rhinestone Cinderella shell shoes - fashion forestry

rain drops keep fallin' on my head
Hello from LA, which is apparently suffering an identity crisis at present and either thinks it is a rain forest or Seattle. I can honestly say I haven't seen this much rain in one go in LA ever! It is insane and, also, people here cannot drive in any sort of weather (seriously people - it's just water, do be careful but not so careful you're going to cause an accident. sheesh!) So far only one leak to report and no landslides (yikes, knock on wood that would be horrible). As a result of the showers, I'm afraid there has also been limited time and space to do outfit shots. I must appologize for that but I'm working on it.
In other news: THESE babies were waiting in my mailbox for me when I got home today...
They are from Nicole of Fashion Forestry's line and LOOK! they literally sparkle like Cinderella's glass slippers. sigh...suffice to say we're in love. I hope to give them a proper post soon but I just couldn't wait to show them to you.
Well, it looks like it is out into the ultra-soaked streets of West Hollywood I go. Promise not to be gone too long and meanwhile (though I probably post this band too much) here's Jenny & Johnny on Conan earlier this week... xxdjrd
