more photos from the mountians...

I've been extremely busy this week (incidentally, stay tuned for an extra special post I've been working on for Monday!) and, as a result, I am atrociously behind with posting more of the photos from our trip to Idaho.

mountain girl

Despite the aforementioned puffy face (due to terrible allergies) on our last day in the mountains of Idaho I asked "the Brit" take a few blog photos for me. The weather was incredible the whole time we were there - particularly lucky because the forecast had not been a pretty sight.  Alas, we managed to avoid even the slightest hint of rain!

I really love going on trips on or around my birthday and since "the Brit" had never been to Idaho (where my family has a place) when it was not covered in snow it seemed like a very good plan. We spent most of the trip taking photos in the wilderness with proper film cameras (I hope to post the fruits of our labors soon!), driving around, hiking a bit, eating delicious food and just being lazy. Oh and I did manage to hop on a bike once or twice. Here is the evidence...

All in all I would say (wrenched allergies aside) it was a very successful escape from old Los Angeles. Oh, and the pups came too! The best thing about their tiny size is they are oh so easy to put into a carrier and bring along on short trips.

outfit notes:
romper - american apparel
shoes - vintage

PS: I meant to mention this in my last post but a big Happy 1 Year Anniversary! to the Loved One shop in Pasadena. I cannot believe it has been a year since this post.  If you live in LA and you haven't been yet you are missing out!

snow

On our last day in the mountains of Idaho where we spent our holiday I managed to coax "the Brit" in to taking some quick shots for me...
This is basically the only time throughout the year where you'll find me in my Sorel's because Southern California is hardly the climate for snow boots - but they are super warm and do the trick in the snow.

please note charlie in the background who refused to wear her doggie coat this year!

PS: thanks to everyone for their emails/calls/texts about this whole fire business. They did arrest someone over the weekend and the arson stopped so I'm hoping that's the end of it. So scary to have been so close to disaster.  We are very thankful!

the grass is always greener

In the rush for the airport last week I forgot my tripod which I really wanted to bring with me for outfit shots. In truth, I had so much other junk to haul around it's probably OK that I forgot it or I would have almost certainly had to pay extra to check an additional bag! The point being, I had limited places to prop my camera up for these shots and no backup photographer so I'm afraid I only snapped a few of this particular outfit.  You may recognize this vintage dress (and belt) from on my road trip back in March - I wore it while running around exploring Santa Fe.  But now I have my MIA clogs and these butterscotch sunglasses which work very well with it, I think. So it's a little different from the last time I posted it.
This dress is very light-weight, perfect for a sunny day in the mountains. So maybe not a full fledged hike but it was perfectly suited for prancing around these grassy hills and walking through town.

back in the saddle again

hello, hello and many apologizes for the extreme lack of blog posts over the past few days. As you may know I was out of town for the past week and internet in the mountains of Idaho leaves much to be desired! I had two posts basically ready to go which somehow magically vanished when I tried to publish them! I started to have a meltdown but then I decided to just let it go and let blogger get it's way this time. Anyhow, I just got back to civilization and I thought I'd post a few semi-random photos from my little trip...

hope you all are well!
